From the charming mountain village of Montejaque we drive a little further up by car on a dirt road. From there begins the hike up to the rock and the stone basins of Tunio. This path is easy to manage, only the descent to the "Llanos de Líbar" is long, constant and we walk over rocky areas without a clear path.
The stone basins of Tunio were hewn into the rock to gain ice, the water in the pools, that froze during the night frosts, was used as ice blocks for cooling until the early 20th century. The view from up there is spectacular and the rock formations are impressive. The last part of the hike over the Llanos de Líbar is easy and very pretty.
