Where nature meets history. Beautiful hike within the cork forest, passing by some interesting anthropomorphic tumbs in the forest, up to the Moorish Castle and back over a Roman Road

castellar bosque pueblo 02Our circular walk begins below the picturesque castle village of Castellar de la Frontera and leads us through a wonderful landscape, characterized by bizarre rock formations, through cork forests, past antropomorphic graves in the rock, and back to the village.

Castellar "El Viejo", the ancient village is located within a Moorish medina, in the heart of the cork forest, with a fantastic view over the cork forest and the straight of Gibraltar. We visit the pretty village, which is absolutely worth seeing with its slight hippie flair and the many flower pots, small alleyways and hidden little squares. Time to have some tapas at the village. And from there we walk back down to our starting point.
