Round trip - The Moorish Castles in the Cork Forest

Round trip - The Moorish Castles in the Cork Forest

A trip to two of the most emblematic white villages of Andalusia. Castellar de la Frontera and Jimena de la Frontera

These two villages have a lot in common, but yet, they are so different! Both have the epithet "de la Frontera - of the Border", for centuries they were on the border between the Moorish and the Christian Empire. As martial as they were in the old times, as peaceful they are now. Life seems to stand still in Castellar, the sleepy village; Jimena, a little busier and bigger, is still a very laid back and friendly place. Little alleys full of flowers, squares where the old people sit on benches, watching the world go by...  A trip into the heart of the Cork Forest, and into the life of the Andalusian Hinterland.

We visit both villages and walk up to the Castle of Jimena. After this little walk we can enjoy some typical tapas in a lovely local bar on the village square. And on our way back we pass Gaucín and Casares, and can have a short visit to Casares as well.

Small group, of maximum 8 participants.
