So far nobody has been able to explain the origin of the name "Charca de las Extranjeras" (the pond of foreigners), to me, the fact is that in summer not only foreigners enjoy a cool bath, but especially the locals. But we hike a little further upstream, where there is little going on, even in summer. The river comes from the Sierra Bermeja nature reserve, the contrasting landscape that surrounds us, from periodite to marble, pine forests and indigenous bush vegetation, is reason enough to be there, the cool bath in clear water a perfect bonus.
