This beautiful hike takes us through a forest of Pinsapos (Spanish firs), a botanical rarity found in only a few places worldwide. We ascend to Los Reales, the highest peak of the Sierra Bermeja, known as the "Red Mountains."
From the summit at 1,449 meters above sea level, we enjoy breathtaking views over the coastline, the town of Estepona, and—on clear days—even across the sea to Africa. To the north, the rugged mountains of the Serranía de Ronda rise up, with small, hidden villages nestled among the peaks.
The first part of the hike is uphill, but the effort is well rewarded — the views are simply spectacular.
