 An interesting and stunning circular route\, from the pretty mountain vill
 age Montejaque\, to a very strange reservoir and dam and down to the impre
 ssive huge entrance of a cave\, called 'Hundidero' - the sinkhole\nOur pat
 h leads us along an almost always dry water reservoir to an amazing big ol
 d dam\, built in between beautiful karstic rocky mountains. It was built i
 n the beginning of the 20th century. The dam itself was an engineering mas
 terpiece\, the biggest in Europe at the time and probably will survive a f
 ew more centuries\, but it was built without mother nature’s consent. What
  failed was the geological studies\, the many caves hidden between the roc
 ks on each side of the dam\, let the water disappear\, and the reservoir n
 ever filled up.&nbsp\;\nBehind the dam\, we walk down to the huge entrance
  of the Hundidero cave\, we don’t enter the cave\, the entrance is impress
 ive enough. From there we walk back over a mountain pass back to the villa
 ge.\nDifficulty\n&nbsp\;medium – 9\,5 km – approx. 4 hours\nElevations\n↑↓
