The plateau of Juanar offers an amazing variety of landscapes and tree species. From oaks to pines, eucalyptus, olives and chestnut trees, even to a few specimens of the famous Pinapo fir, a botanical rarity that exists only in Andalusia and the reef mountains of Morocco. The color contrast of red earth, the bright rock of the Sierra Blanca in the background, the different green tones of the trees, determines the landscape.
We walk through the forest and through an olive plantation to a viewpoint with a fantastic view over Marbella and the coast. The path is, apart from a few small obstacles at the beginning, easy to walk and very varied.
On the way back we stop at the charming village of Ojén where we can enjoy some tapas on the village square.
