 Wonderful circular hike from Jimena through the cork oak nature park\, one
  of the largest cork forests in Europe\, over the Río Hozgarganta to a sma
 ll lagoon\, hidden in the deepest forest\nThe hike leads from the village 
 down to the banks of the Río Hozcarganta\, which has carved its way betwee
 n karstic rock formations and cork oaks\, and deep into the cork oak fores
 t. Its one of the most beautiful tours through the cork forest\, past old 
 farmhouses that look like something out of a film scene from another time\
 , stone slabs in the forest\, surprising views over the forest\, a varied\
 , fantastically beautiful tour.\nThe highest point of our hike is called L
 aguna Escondida\, a small\, hidden lagoon that only has water in the rainy
  season and is only used as a ‘pool’ by wild animals. We hike back on a di
 fferent path along the Cañuelo River. Depending on the time of year and th
 e temperature of the day\, the Hozcarganta and Cañuelo rivers invite you t
 o take a cool dip in their natural stone pools.\nDifficulty\n&nbsp\;medium
