A three-day hiking trip to the Cazorla, Segura and Las Villas Natural Park, the largest in Spain and the second largest in Europe. Gorges, waterfalls, charming villages, old castles, nature and history.

cazorla 02Day 1

The journey from Marbella to the starting point of our first tour takes about 3½ hours. Before we start hiking, we of course take a small tapas break in a village. We drive to our accommodation only after the tour.

Almost the entire route is on a wide path and a GR trail, although there are places where the path is a little narrower. At the end of the route, we visit the Cueva del Agua: a small path with waterfalls and the image of a virgin venerated in the area.

We start this tour with a drive in a 4x4 into the nature reserve. Authorised park rangers inform us about flora, fauna and history. We drive to a small lake and hike from there back down.

The upper part of the trail is a bit steeper and rockier but beautiful. It leads along the river, through two dark tunnels (torch) to an electricity plant, from there we follow a forest path back to the starting point.
