Coastal hike from the great dune of Tarifa to the archaeological site of Bolonia
Spectacular coastal walk, through dunes, pine forests and on the beach on hard sand along some amazing rock-formations to Bolonia, a small village, right next to the Roman ruins of Baleo Claudia
Our hike starts with a walk over a shifting sand dune, which grows irresistibly over a pine forest and a road. The view from the dune over the two shores of the strait of Gibraltar is spectacular, the coast of Africa seams close enough to reach over. From the dune we continue through a pine forest to the coast and follow a coastal path, through bays with whimsical stone formations and bush vegetation, to the beach of Bolonia.
This charming little fishing village used to be an important harbor in Roman times; today Bolonia it is a secret hideaway, a perfect place for those who look for peace and naturalness.
At the end of our walk we can try local fish-specialties in a little Restaurant near the Roman Ruins. An all day beautiful experience!
