From Benahavís up to the moorish castle ruins on the top of Montemayor
Circular route from Benahavis, passing the water reservoir, along the Guadalmina Valle and up to the peak of the Montemayor to the moorish castle ruins, with a view over the coast
Our walk leads through typical Mediterranean forests, the valley of the Guadalmina River and up to the remains of the Moorish castle of Montemayor, in whose protection the village of Benahavis was built. From Montemayor one has a magnificent view over the coast, the water reservoir, the village and the surrounding mountains.
Back in town, we can test the rich gastronomic offerings of the place and strengthen ourselves with a few tapas. Benahavis is also known locally as the "comedor" - the dining room of the Costa del Sol.
