Sierra de las Nieves - Cerro de la Sardina
On this hike in the Sierra de las Nieves, we explore old abandoned farms, climb the "Cerro de la Sardina", with a view of Ronda, and along a river valley back to the starting point
In the Sierra de las Nieves, the new national park of Andalusia, there are many abandoned farms, the hard life in the mountains and the loneliness of farms without roads and any infrastructure are a thing of the past. Many legends and ruins from bygone times have remained. We start our tour from the entrance of the park to the Cortijo (farm) Rajete, up to the pass and the hill of the Sardine, with a fantastic view of the city of Ronda. The ruins of the court of the Carboneras, the charcoal burners who made charcoal in earlier times, are located on the banks of the river of the same name. We follow the course of the river back to our starting point.
